First-time itinerary
A three-full-day Beijing plan organized by reservation anchors, districts, meal zones, fatigue, weather, and realistic fallbacks.
Day one protects a reservation-sensitive central-city anchor. Day two protects the Great Wall transport loop. Day three chooses one secondary Beijing job. This keeps the plan usable when tickets, weather, heat, rain, or fatigue change the order.
Day-by-day planning map
Use the map to make tradeoffs. It is not a promise that every venue, ticket, or transport option will be available.
| Day | Anchor | Route shape | Do not overload | Fallback |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | Forbidden City or another reservation anchor | Tiananmen-area arrival, palace route, Jingshan or nearby old-city walk | Do not add a distant evening district after a long palace day | Use a museum-free old-city route if the anchor is unavailable |
| Day 2 | Great Wall section and return transport | One Wall section, one confirmed outbound route, one confirmed return route | Protect the return before adding a show or late dinner | Use Temple of Heaven plus a neighborhood day when weather or transport fails |
| Day 3 | Choose one secondary Beijing job | Summer Palace, museum cluster, hutong depth, or food neighborhoods | Pick one job rather than combining opposite sides of the city | Use the nearest flexible district when reservations, heat, rain, or fatigue change the day |

Keep each day geographically coherent. A famous place is not worth adding when it creates a cross-city transfer and removes the meal or return buffer.
Protect one meal zone and one early stopping point. A first Beijing trip becomes better when the plan can absorb jet lag, security lines, heat, or rain.
